StewardCash (“we,” “our,” or “the App”) is a family budgeting application developed by B-Tek Systems. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Financial Information: Bank account balances, transactions, and budget categories synced via Plaid. We do not store your bank login credentials.
- Household Data: Budget amounts, spending categories, and household member information you provide.
- Children's Information (StewardKids): First name and birthdate of children added by their parent or legal guardian. We collect minimal data and do not share children's information with third parties.
- Usage Data: App interactions, lesson progress, and feature usage to improve the experience.
- Apple Sign In: If you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email (or a relay email if you choose to hide it).
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the budgeting and financial education features of the App.
- To sync your bank accounts and transactions securely via Plaid.
- To personalize your experience, including daily lessons and Steward Score.
- To send budget alerts and notifications you have opted into.
- To improve the App and develop new features.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase: Authentication and database hosting.
- Plaid: Secure bank account linking and transaction syncing. Plaid's privacy policy applies to data processed through their service.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple authentication.
- Expo/EAS: App build and distribution infrastructure.
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
StewardKids is designed for use by parents and legal guardians to teach children about financial stewardship. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Parents must confirm consent before adding a child under 13. Children's data is limited to first name and birthdate and is not shared with third parties.
If you believe we have collected information from a child without parental consent, please contact us immediately.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), row-level security policies, and secure authentication. Your bank credentials are never stored by StewardCash — they are handled entirely by Plaid.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the App. When you delete your account, all your personal data, budget data, and household data are permanently removed from our servers. If you are the last member of a household, the entire household and all associated data are deleted.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and all associated data.
- Export your data (contact us for assistance).
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email.
